MONEY SMART WEEK STUDENT CONTEST

SHOW YOUR TALENT AND CREATIVITY!

PRIZES & GRANTS

Incorporate the importance of personal finance in your story OR video and have the opportunity to win a prize!
STUDENT PRIZES

1st Place: $100 (each student)

Students must follow contest guidelines & rules listed below. 

SCHOOL PRIZES

1st Place: $500

The High School with the highest percentage of student body participation will be awarded the grant. 

CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES

Students in grades 9th – 12th residing in Dona Ana County are eligible to participate.

 

Students must have an advisor who can be a teacher, counselor, or librarian who must sign the verification and authenticity of the contest entry form. Videos must be submitted on a flash drive and dropped off to Jen Garcia at Washington Federal Bank located at 1800 S. Telshor Blvd, following the guidelines below:

 

  • Each contestant must complete and attach an Entry Form.

  • Only one (1) story OR video per contestant.

  • Each story or video must reflect the contestant’s own research, writing, and original thinking on the specified topic.

JUDGING

Finalist Videos will be posted to the Money Smart Week DAC Facebook page for a chance to win a prize for the most liked video.

TIMELINE
  • VIDEOS DUE: March 1, 2019

 

  • FINALISTS NOTIFIED: March 6, 2019

 

  • MSW STORY/VIDEO AWARDS: March 2019

 

Finalist Videos will be posted to the Money Smart Week DAC Facebook Page for a chance to win a prize for the most liked video.

MEDIA RULES
  • Individuals or Groups will be required to create a 30-60 second video clip to reflect the topic.

  • The video clip can be a motion picture, stop motion, or animated and it must be submitted electronically by the deadline.

  • Contestants will be provided official video submission rules that will require a signed copyright release by all participants.

* Submissions become the property of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and will not be returned to the author/creator. The Bank may reprint the stories in education publications and share the video clips on social media or at economic workshops. Citations will be given to the writers/creators.
