Schools with the highest percentage of student body participation will be awarded a grant.
CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES
Students in grades 6th – 8th residing in Doña Ana County are eligible to participate.
Students must have an advisor who can be a teacher, counselor, or librarian who must sign the verification and authenticity of the contest entry form. Stories OR videos may be submitted via email at or can be dropped off to Jen Garcia at Washington Federal Bank located at 1800 S. Telshor Blvd, following the guidelines below:

Each contestant must complete and attach an Entry Form.

Only one (1) story OR video per contestant.

Each story or video must reflect the contestant’s own research, writing, and original thinking on the specified topic.
STORY RULES

Stories must be typed in 12-point font, double-spaced with one-inch margins and limited to a single-sided page.

Stories must be submitted in PDF Format.

Each story must include a separate title page with the following information: Title, Author’s Name, School Name, Grade, and Name of Teacher.

Finalists will be given a ziplock bag of shredded money, provided by the Federal Reserve Bank. Students may use other materials along with the shredded money as visual aids.
MEDIA RULES

Individuals or Groups will be required to create a 30-60 second video clip to reflect the topic.

The video clip can be a motion picture, stop motion, or animated and it must be submitted electronically by the deadline.

Contestants will be provided official video submission rules that will require a signed copyright release by all participants.
* Submissions become the property of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and will not be returned to the author/creator. The Bank may reprint the stories in education publications and share the video clips on social media or at economic workshops. Citations will be given to the writers/creators.

Finalist Videos will be posted to the Money Smart Week DAC Facebook Page for a chance to win a prize for the most liked video.
