About Money Smart Week
Created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002, Money Smart Week® is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. This is achieved through the collaboration and coordinated effort of hundreds of organizations across the country. Programming is offered to all demographics and income levels and covers all facets of personal finance. Partnering Organizations will host their events this year April 22 – 29, 2017.
Money Smart Week launched in Doña Ana County in 2015 with significant assistance from the El Paso Money Smart Week team. For 2017, the Doña Ana County initiative is independent, co-chaired by Shirley Hitson (First National Bank of the Rio Grande) and Kevin Wilson (City of Las Cruces Community Development).
The 2017 Kick-Off event will be held Saturday, April 22, in front of the historic Rio Grande Theater, in conjunction with the Las Cruces Farmer’s Market.
