About Money Smart Week
Money Smart Week (MSW) is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. This is achieved through the collaboration and coordinated effort of organizations across the city and county including businesses, financial institutions, schools, not-for-profits, libraries, government agencies and the media. These groups come together once a year to stress the importance of financial literacy, inform consumers where they can get help, and provide free educational seminars and activities throughout MSW. Programming is offered to all demographics and income levels and covers all facets of personal finance from establishing a budget to first time home buying to estate planning.
Money Smart Week is being modeled on successful efforts in Chicago in 2002. The planning resulted in a week of financial seminars and educational activities. The El Paso Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in partnership with banks, credit unions, community outreach groups, local organizations, and the media, are leading efforts in the El Paso County to offer free financial education seminars and activities during the annual campaign.
The new chairs for theDoña Ana branch in Las Cruces are Manny Morales and Amanda Morales.
